2) Revitalisation of lyophilised fungal material
MUT can revitalise lyophilised fungi either preserved in its own collection or directly provided by the customer.
3) Deposit of fungal strains
Fungi can be deposited at MUT either as a free deposit with public access or as a safe deposit (restricted access).
4) Isolation and identification
MUT can isolate and identify fungi associated with different substrates. Please, contact MUT before sending the material to analysed. All the available and necessary information should be provided. MUT staff can directly perform the sampling, on demand. This service is strictly confidential and customers should indicate whether the strains must be destroyed, returned to the owners, or stored in MUT collection.

The fungi to be identified must be provided as pure cultures actively growing on agar medium and accompanied by all the available information (original substrate, host organism, growing conditions, etc.). This service is strictly confidential and customers should indicate whether the strains must be destroyed, returned to the owners, or stored in MUT collection.
6) Genomic services
MUT offers services of extraction of DNA from filamentous fungi.

MUT offers fungi freeze-drying services. A battery of twenty ampoules containing the freeze-dried fungus are delivered to the customer, together with the provided strain, unless the customer agree to give it to the collection.
8) Screening and characterization of fungal isolates
MUT offers services of physiological and enzymatic characterization, aimed to the check of specific features for potential application, of fungal strains provided by customers or selected from the MUT collection.
9) Educational Services
Microscopic preparations and cultures of representative species of different taxonomic groups are available for educational purposes at MUT. In addition, MUT distributes fungal cultures for educational purposes. Informative courses for students can be organised on demand.
